Disabling v Deleting Users and the use of the Self-Registering for Hubs

Hi
One of my clients has a question with regards to the disabling or deleting users and self-registration for hubs.

They are currently having a spring clean of their external users. Does anyone know what the best practice is should you need to re-add a user who has previously been deleted. Will Hubshare treat this as a brand new user who has never been added before or does any residual permissions suddenly re-emerge when they are added to Hubshare again? Can these deleted Hubshare users still self-register for a hub even if they have been deleted? Are they treated as brand new Hubshare external users?

Thanks
Alyson

  • Hello Alyson,

Deleting the user will remove everything linked to him like rights, actions listed in audit, activities, hubs and templates (if not transferred to another internal user).

Regarding the self registry, if user was deleted, he can ask again to be registered in the company like a fresh new user.

So I'd suggest disabling the user, it will free a license spot and they can enable him back again as nothing will be deleted.

    Hope that answers the question.
