send link to web and PC client

Hi!

We have an organization with both Web UI (Mac) and PC Client users.  Currently, there is no simple way to send a link to a document that works for both these groups of users.

Do you have plans to improve this in 2015?  For example, in the "Sharing, E-Mail or PDF" menu or the "Create Shortcut" menu?

Thanks!

I don't believe there would be any way to achieve this via a single link....that's not really an M-Files issue though. That's just a natural limitation....Windows is associating the type of link, e.g. http:// or m-files:// with an application.

In my organization, we sent out two links for each document. (If it's a lot of documents, we use document collections and send links to those.)

I agree it would be nice to have a built-in option to generate an M-Files web/http link.

That being said, one option would be to have a custom property that calls up a script to generate the unique weblink for each document. You could then copy and paste this displayed property as needed.

M-Files consulting can do this for you in no time or someone may be willing to post a sample code and instructions here.
