Version Comparison for Word Documents

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to compare the versions of the word document in M-Files?

Or do I need to save as the versions I want to compare on desktop and then compare then inside Word?

Please help to clarify this. It is very important for us.

Thank you!

Sure. When you checkout the Word document to yourself for editing, there is a tab called M-Files on the top right. Just click on that tab, and you will see "Comparison". Click on that and you will have a new pop-up window where you can select the version you want to compare. Select the version and it will compare.

The comparison function is the same as Word comparison because I think M-Files uses Word comparison.

I could not see the username that is on M-Files as who made the changes. It only says "Author" deleted this, or "Author" added this. So, I am just going to try to change the author name on Word and see if it works. Wish instead of Author, it would display the user who made the changes. This might be possible, but I have not figured out yet.
