but keep in mind that downgrade is not that easy, you need to have a copy of the vault corresponding to the server version. @M-FILES, maybe it's not a bad idea to have official links for old versions say a year ago

I was wondering before if it is really necessary to force vault upgrade for each update.. Needs a good backup strategy when you have such a problem, cause else you loose data as there is no real downgrade possible.. Delaying update is also a good idea imho 

This is not a server-side issue but client-side issue so server downgrade is not necessary.

This would be helpful.  All but one of the issues I've come across with M-Files has been client side.  It would be nice to have n-2 so we can at least test or prove an update caused a problem.  We had an issue once where a client side update broke PDF printing directly into M-Files.  We didn't have the next previous version, only one that was several months old.  Unfortunately at that time we were not supplied a previous version to revert to.  Ever since I've kept my own repository.
