Warning after upgrade to 22.09 (from 21.10) in M-Files Client

Hi community and M-Files,

Today I have upgraded one of our cloud development vaults to latest 22.09 structure (obviously installed 22.09 client and server). Everything went somehow smoothly (faced space problem so needed to extend our disks in cloud) but I am facing strange warning when I log on:

When I go into details, I can see:

We have customized UI Theme adding our logo and some additional images. I suppose that something has to do with appdef.xml and versions specified there. Currently is 10.0.3911.4.

This was Theme UI app we downloaded 3-4 years ago. It seems M-Files is more strict now.

The other part I am not quite sure about: "M-Files Compliance UI". What does it refer to? Is it Compliance Kit version? Due to bug within Advanced Notifications, I can not upgrade to latest M-Files compliance kit and I am currently stuck on 20.10.911.3 version.

Do you have ideas how to deal with this?

Thanks.

Dejan

  • To update: I solved the first warning about customized UI Theme. We have used UI Theme app which was based on old schema and old usage of events for ShellUI. I fixed those and first warning is gone. The other however is still present.

Wondering if this influences that branding css files are not correctly applied!? We've used branding css files for top pane and metadata card view to style some colors and buttons. This worked perfectly in 21.10 version.

Really hope that this is not somehow connected with compliance kit as currently we can not upgrade it.

Many thanks for hints and help.

  • If you have been using the Theme Editor, please be aware that at November release, it stops working. The new modifiers are placed in M-Files Admin Tool - Advanced Vault Settings.

For the later one, please have a look at this article and more specifically, the end part of it:

  • Hi Timo,

Thanks for reference. I double checked the config we have on our vault for UI Configuration in Compliance Kit 20.10.911.3. We actually don't use UI Configuration and actually Client Applications Settings don't exist.

Does this really mean that we need to upgrade M-Files Compliance Kit also to 21.12 version? As mentioned before and in another thread, this version has sever problem in Advanced Notifications related to usage of state transitions.

Not quite sure what to do now. If anyone has experience or knowledge with similar situation, please share it.

    Thank you.

  • You can just ignore the notification until you are ready for the Compliance Kit upgrade. It's just there to notify that you are not getting the full speed benefits of fast browsing in the client while you have  incompatible applications in the vault.

  • I've installed 21.12 version and the warning is gone. However, the problem with advanced notifications where we use state transitions is still present. The problem with that warning was caused because of M-Files Compliance Kit not any of ours client side apps.

I am not sure that users will accept this warning in clients.
