M-Files URL viewid - Open View within Grouping Levels

Hi Guys

Has anyone ever managed to open a view within a Grouping Level of a View? Maybe to clarify my intent:

I'm able to reach "2024" with this URL (to the point of the screenshot above):

m-files://viewid/vaultGUID/206/1309/24

So i guess when I add " /298 " I should be able to open the view, right? But the link doesn't work..

Any Ideas? I cannot gather any references on why this shouldn't work from the M-Files guide

Many thanks for your help in advance!

  • I am surprised your sample URL works. For grouping levels (property folders not converted to views) the URL should contain letters like "L123" for a grouping level made from a value list where 123 is the ID of the particular value. For the "2024" folder the encoding depends on how you configured the grouping level. If it's the year portion of an M-Files Date property or an integer it should be encoded as "I2024" (capital letter "i").

A simple thing you could try: use classic web client to navigate to your desired view, note the URL in the browser's address bar.  From that URL use only the path after "/views/" and remove all letters "V". Append that path to "m-files//viewid/<Vault-GUID>/"
