How to Copy a Cloud Vault Larger Than 10GB?

Hello,

We are working on a project that requires copying an M-Files Cloud Vault to create a test system.

However, the vault size is approximately 32.4 GB, and according to the User Guide, it’s not possible to copy a vault larger than 10 GB directly

"It is not possible to copy the structure and content of a vault with over 10 GB of file data."

Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Are there any alternative methods for handling such a case?

  • If you just need the vault structure in the test vault, one option is to create an empty vault via M-Files Manage and then replicate the structure. Further details in Partner Portal document Moving or Copying an M-Files Vault to Cloud with Replication.pdf

If the replication approach is not suitable, then you can order a copy of the cloud vault from M-Files Cloud Operations. This is a billable service, please contact the partner support team to discuss further.

Looking forward, we have plans to lift the 10 GB limit for the vault coping in M-Files Manage but the timeline for this development is not yet known.
