Authorization Error: Couldn't Load Client Certificate in M-Files Plugin for Outlook pro

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue while configuring the M-Files Plugin for Outlook Pro.
I followed the steps in this official document: M-Files Support Article, but I still receive the following errors in the M-Files Plugin for Outlook > Configuration > Authorization Settings:

  • "Couldn't load client certificate from configuration."
  • "There is no certificate."

Steps I have already tried:

  • Set the Certificate Thumbprint under M-Files Admin > M-Files Plugin for Outlook > Configuration > Authorization Settings, but the error persists.
  • Restarted M-Files Server (services.msc), but there is no change in the error status.

Has anyone faced a similar issue before? What steps should I take to resolve this client certificate error?

    Have tried to configure this in 2 vaults. One on premise vault where I only added the thumbprint, and one cloud vault where I had to add the certificate. If I remember correctly, I had to convert the certificate and the private key to the correct format before it was accepted.
