Converting a value list to an object type - glitch?

My understanding is this - upon creation of an object type M Files automatically creates a property which is a multi select from list associated with that object.  A value list associated with the object type appears in the "value lists" section of the meta data structure flat view in the server admin program.

However, when starting with a value list and using the "convert to object type" option, the value list disappears from this view.

Is this a glitch?
  • If you convert a Value List to Object Type it is in fact converted to Object Type. It is no longer a Value List and therefore will not appear in you list of Value Lists. In stead you will see a new Object Type in your list of Object Types. The main difference is that a Value List only has an ID and a Name/Title for each item, Object Type can have many properties describing each item (object). You can still use the "Choose from list" property created when you initiated the Value List but now it will select from the Object Type rather than from the Value List.
