Copy property value of a Document when using Make copy

Hello!

Context :
When a user do a "Make copy..." action on a document, I need to copy some properties, like the Title and the version of the document and put this information in a property named Origin of the new document created. This is to keep track to know this document originate from what other document.

I was told that is possible using a Copy rules using the Object Creator of the Compliance Kit. But I'm not sure how to use it.

  • Yes, this should be possible with Object Creator. You can download the Compliance Kit vault application and the free license which enables Object Creator from our Solution Catalog and the configuration options are listed in the Compliance Kit Configuration Manual. I recommend working with your M-Files representative to get the rules correctly configured as it's not necessarily the most straight-forward thing if you haven't done it before and it's much easier to give guidance when you can see the live system.
