Cannot Log in to New Vault in Full Version

Hi,

I have just upgraded to the Full version and I created a new vault to start working in. But when I click on it I get this message:

"You cannot log in because your Account has not been assigned a license". I don't understand. I just installed the license. Can someone explain?

Thanks!

You might need to check the relationship between your 'login accounts', the license assigned to each and then 'Vault Users' relationship to login account.

You need to assign a licence to your user account on server in the "Account Connection".

    Hello Jerome,

Thanks for your reply, but where is this "Account Connection" you refer to? I have looked everywhere in the server software and found nothing of that name and the Help does not list it either.

    Hello Rob,

This is a brand new vault. I cannot assign any Users to it since I cannot access it in the server software. It was inaccessible immediately after I created it.

  • Hi,

Just login to the new vault using your system administrator login account, usually with the windows server user account.

  • Let me put this straight:

In trial mode, you do not have to assign any license type to your login account. After entering the M-Files Professional lilicense code, you must assign a certain type of license to every login account:

    - Open the M-Files Server Administrator
    - On the left hand, click "Login accounts" on the tree view. II IS second lowest part of the tree.
    - Double-click your own login account open, and assign the license type to the account.
    - Click OK, and log in to the document vault by M-Files Client.

Please note, that if this is a document vault created from the scratch, you must add the users to the document vaujlt with the Windows account, by which you have installed the M-Files Server. By default, there are no users on the document vault, so you must use the local Administrator account (the one which was used to install the MFServer) to assign the users, like yourself, to the document vault user.

    Timo,

I DID log onto the server as the Admin I always have
I DID open the M-Files Server Administrator with the same user details
I DID create a new vault logged on as the original Admin
I COULD NOT access this new vault AS AN ADMIN.

We were able to rectify this issue. I have several other Admins for this server. I had one of the OTHER Admins log onto the server and open the M-Files Server Administrator.

HE COULD enter the new vault. He went to Users and there my Admin User Account was listed AS DISABLED AS IT SAYS I DID NOT HAVE A LICENSE! As I have repeatedly said I just installed the license and I am still listed as not having one.

My other Admin deleted my Admins User and then reinstalled my Admin User Account as a User and NOW I have access.

I believe that after the 30 day trial period ends the Admin is disabled like this, no? However, when I installed the license this should have been removed

It is clear to me that you have a bug in your software.....
