PDF conversion takes veeryyyy long (client-side)

Hi there

We have a client where some users have some difficulties with converting word documents into PDF's (separate file). A 1-2 page document can take up to 1 minute until it is converted. It is actually not the PDF conversion itself which takes a lot of time, but the time until the multifile document is created and the PDF is visible in the M-Files client.

Is there any issue known from M-Files side since one of the last updates? This worked well before.

Are there any other things which have to be checked to solve this problem?

Would appreciate your hints.

    Hi there, 

    This is an open issue that our product development is currently working on. 

    As a workaround, you could use external tools to convert files as PDFs, which you could then drag to the document vault. 

    The issue report ID for this is 164636. The actual fix should be in place at the November release at the latest.

    Do you have an update on this bug?

    The client reports that it still takes very long, although they have the latest M-Files server/client installed.

    The issue should have been fixed already in 22.10, so please send a new support request about this issue to m-Files Support.

    Thanks for your information. As far as I can see, the issue 164636 reports only about Excel files. In my case it‘s about Word documents. However, the client says that it‘s only one user having this problem. All of them use PDF24, so they should have the same configurations though. 

    Before reporting an issue, do you have any other idea why this problem occurs only with 1 user?
