M-Files Web stops working after every automatic update.

It doesn't sound like normal behavior to me. Have you raised this with M-Files Support?

Not yet, I expected somebody around here had the same annoying issue and give some advice before reaching Support guys. I'll let you know.

Is it a separate IIS-server from the M-Files server?
Because in that case, both servers need to be updated simultaneously.
If it is not working, what do you need to change in the configuration exactly? The application group or the physical path?

Hi Joonas Linkola, m.kesselaers I contacted MF Support and they have no previous reports about this issue. They recommend reinstalling IIS, in my case IIS is installed from Windows Server Roles/Add Role, etc, with the options that M-Files Admin notify when we are enabling M-Files Web (check .ASP Net, IIS Metabase..., etc) maybe we are not selecting some additional IIS options.

Strange, I had this issue anytime I updated M-Files server, in my company. After every updated I have to go to application pool to change the path to point to the latest folder. This was I was using the old type of vNext configuration.

This looks like some manual setup that M-Files does not know about and does not maintain.

By default, when the M-Files Wizard is used to set up the web access, M-Files Server knows about the site under which it is configured and updates the path and application pool while installing the new version. It seems not to be the case here.

Another possible cause is if M-Files runs under some limited account with no rights to do these changes - then it would remain to be manual work.

There is also one limitation when using virtual directories, which also requires manual work after the upgrade:

This issue occurred when activating vNext using the old method, not with the current method (ie M-Files Admin).
