Set Property automatically: Property Calculator vs Auto Calculated Properties (Managed Properties)

Well, best practice should be to have Calculated Properties in only one of the module, not in both. :)

The order of calculation is the order in the Event Handler list on the vault level.

In Property Calculator Rule I can configure which Event Handler is used, my question is what Event Handler is used in Auto Calculated Properties? Of course the same Rule in both Modules doesn't make sense but it could make sense to have one Rule in Property Calculator and another Rule in Auto Calculated Properties based on when it is calculated.. When using other Addons like Extension Kit it gets even more complicated..

Why not have both rules in PC or both Rules in Auto Calculated Properties? I don't understand the use case here, because if they overwrite each other, sound like something is not correctly configured, maybe.

As for on which event handler, well maybe Joonas Linkola can help here? 

So your are basically saying that one of the two Modules is redundant? Which one are you using? PC seems more advanced..

I personally am trying to switch fully to PC, cause there are more options there 

Please keep in mind that Property Calculator is an unofficial tool which doesn't have any official support, especially if you are planning to use it for any business-critical functionalities. I don't know the answer to the event handler question, sorry.

I understand that Joonas, but I am pretty sure it is more optimized than building something similar myself :)

But what is your Intention to develop such a useful addon but warn people to use it?

Also trying to switch to PC, i'll let you know If i find any drawbacks..

well the reason is that for example CK is an official addon, so you can raise support issues if something is not working as expected.

With PC, you cannot do that, so if something is not working, if the developer of the PC does not have time to help you, you can't do anything about it.

So they are warning us about it, in order to know what to expect in terms of support.

I understand why the Disclaimer but I don't understand for what purpose M-Files is even developing this addon?

To help in some use cases, using at your own risk. 

Me personally I saved probably days of writing code to do some things, just by using this tool :)
