sql server 2022 support?

The online documents specify that SQL server standard is support for version 2019 or later.

I want to upgrade my SQL server to 2022 so does anyone have any ideas when Mfiles will show in a document that it supports 2022?

I had a bad experience where I upgrade SQL server and this other product (not MFiles) worked fine but when I tried to update the product to the latest version of the product, the upgrade script failed.  The support for the other product was not very useful as they said I am running a non supported version of SQL.  When I see words like SQL version 2019 or later I take the later with a grain of salt as it may work but an upgrade may fail later.

  • TL;DR: SQL Server 2022 is supported.

According to M-Files Lifecycle Policy, compatibility with new SQL Server versions starts on the Microsoft lifecycle start date. SQL Server 2022 has been out for over a year already so any initial compatibility issues should have been dealt with. If you face any such issues in your environment, contact M-Files Support and they will investigate and get the product team involved as needed.

If you want to play it safe, you can build a new SQL Server with the new version (instead of doing an in-place upgrade) and test your vaults on it. The instructions for moving vaults can be found in the user guide: Migrating the Vault Database from One Microsoft SQL Server to Another
