Optimize Database (Thorough) - SQL

Hi,

Is there a way to optimize a database and delete the destroyed documents from the disk and not run the optimization manually?  I know so far that was not possible, but still... Is there a way to automate the SQL database optimization which will also delete destroyed documents from the disk?

Best, Uros

  • From what I have learned it is necessary to run Verify & Repair Thorough to release disk space from destroyed objects. This will take the database offline. I would advise against automation unless you are absolutely certain that you have a service window available at regular intervals to do so. And I am not sure that can be done at all unless you can find a way run a scheduled activity in Windows and use the API to start the process. I have only found the VerifyVault method in documentation, and I don't think it will do a thorough repair.
