Log in error

Good afternoon,

One of the users keeps getting the below error message.

Checked his account, we use single sign on with Azure AD and this has been checked. The software has been un-installed and re-installed and he's still getting the same error. He's had access before and this issue started today.

Anyone know what could be causing it and how to fix it?

thank you
Emma

  • Hi Emma,

So, firstly: make sure this is raised with support (support@m-files.com).  They may be able to do some more digging with you.

I have only seen this where M-Files authentication is used and the authentication details are incorrect.  When the user goes to log into the vault, does he get a prompt for authentication?  If so, does that seem to pass properly?  If you don't get a prompt then can you go to your "M" drive and right-click on the vault and select "log out", then try to access it again?  Can you play "spot-the-difference" between the connection on this vault and on another (specifically: could the authentication type perhaps be incorrect?).

I doubt it's licensing, although I believe the error is different in that case, but it's worth checking.  Is he correctly assigned a licence in M-Files?  Do you use concurrent licences?

    Regards,

    Craig.

  • Hi,

We use concurrent licenses and there are still licenses available. The only prompt is to select his email address, we use a single sign on. He only has the option of 1 email address so it can't be that. Any way he tries to log into the account the same error appears.

I've raised a ticket with support and hopefully it'll be a quick fix.

    Thank you
    Emma

  • Our support portal has this article which seems similar; maybe something has changed within AD?
