Hubshare public register hub is not working for internal users?

Hello all,

I have set up a hub to allow users to sign up direclty and it works well for external users.  With Internal Users they do not receive the email to create their account.  I, as admin, get the message about the new registration but nothing happens after that.

I don't have any requests to manage in the hub.  This is how it is set up on the hub.

I am beginning to think that this feature does not work for internal users and the reason is that I am setting the public register option on another hub and I want to ensure that the users have "stroke.org.uk" emails and the system tells me that the domain is invalid

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Irene

  • Hi,

I asked the support team to contact you and investigate your use case with the self registry feature.

This feature is super interesting and I'm glad to see you try to use it. Hopefully there is no defect with it, but if ever it was the case, the support team should be able to determine it with you and we should then be able to fix the situation afterward in a short manner.

Thanks Irene for your intensive feedbacks sharing on Hubshare, we value this a lot.

    Wishing you a good day,

    Best regards

    Baptiste

  • Hello,

You have set it up to not get any requests since the "allow all domains without validation" is ticked.

Here's an article that could help you understand the settings of the public registry: https://m-files.my.site.com/s/article/Hubshare-Public-Hub-Registry-Guide

When adding a domain, please add it without quotes and press enter, like in the screenshots that can be seen in the article above.

I just tested, and I was able to get access to a hub via public registry even if I'm already an existing internal user.

Do not hesitate to reach the M-Files Support team via the portal if you have more questions.

  • Hi Abdoullah,

Many thanks for your response.  I tried putting my domain with and without quotes. I only put the quotes in because of this instruction at the bottom of the screen:

But with or without quotes I got the message about the domain being invalid.  See here:

In summary, I have two issues with my hub.

    - Currently I have set it as Allow all users without validation - no domains listed and external users are able to join but internals (users with @stroke.org.uk email addresses) are not getting emails to set up their credentials.  And they are not appearing in list to validate or approve.

    - I also want to restrict access and only allow users with @stroke.org.uk email addresses but I can't because of the domain name being invalid.

    I hope this clarifies things.

    Thanks in advance
