how to save personal display settings?

Hello,

I want to make every user save their own display settings, not common display settings,  anyone can tell me how to set. Another, how to save more than one common display settings, because I want to realize different department has different display settings.

Thank you for your help.
  • Users just change their display settings (e.g., which columns are visible) in a folder and they see the same settings next time they enter the folder. There cannot be more than one common display settings per folder. Strictly speaking, display settings are view specific, not folder specific.

    Thank you,partim.

    1. Unfortunately, users change their display settings (e.g., which columns are visible) in a folder or view or search result, but they don't see the same settings next time they enter the folder or view or search result. They just also see the default settings.
If users want to save the settings, they should have the permission of "Manage common views and notification rules",but the setting is common for all users, not for the user own.

    2. Even display settings are view specific, I also hope There can be more than one common display settings per view. And different user can search different object, for example, someone often search drawings, others often search QC document, so I hope they can see different display settings.

    Thanks.

This is weird. Do the users use Web Access or Windows Client? I used Windows Client to change my display settings by removing some columns and properties pane in a folder and browsed back and then reenter the folder. The folder displayed exactly the same it was the last time. M-Files Client should save display settings automatically. Saving the current settings as common settings requires using an explicit command.

Thanks, partim. I know the reason by more than one operation.

If I use Windows Client to change my display settings by removing some columns and properties pane in a folder, and log out immediately, then log in M-Files, I find the display settings remains the default setting, not I just changed.
If I change my display settings, and reenter the view or folder before I log out, then displayed exactly the same I have changed. Also, even I log out and log in,the display settings remains the same.

That's to say, only reentering can guarantee your display settings save.
  • Thank you for pointing this out. We will try to address this issue that display settings are not saved when logging out immediately after doing modifications in the future versions of the product.
