Automatically search Community and Documentation content at the same time
The search function within the community is integrated across a few M-Files systems. In other words, when you search in the community, you'll retrieve results from both the community itself and M-Files documentation (which comprises the M-Files Customer Support Portal and M-Files Product Knowledgebase).
When you enter a term in the search field at the top of a community page:
- Before you hit return, you'll see two buttons where you can filter between community results or documentation results (i.e., Customer Support Portal & Knowledgebase).
- After you hit return, you'll see a tabbed interface with community on the left and documentation on the right.
- Either way, you can always filter community results. It is not possible to filter documentation results.
Retrieve results from the area/page you are currently on
The community results you retrieve are affected by the page from which you entered the search. For example, if you enter a search term in the search field while on a forum page, the community search will return forum results. If you enter a search term in the search field while within the Partner Group, the community search will return Partner Group results.
Protip: If you want to search the entire community, make sure you're on the homepage when you enter your search term.
