We want our Community members to connect. For that reason, by default we do not moderate any content or member on the Community. Instead, we expect all members to abide by our Code of Conduct and Terms of Service.
In the unfortunate event that unacceptable or abusive language is posted on the Community, moderation may be introduced for certain users and abusive content may be edited or removed. Content may also be edited or deleted in the case of copyright infringement. In all cases, the author is notified and has the opportunity to appeal, edit, or delete, depending on the circumstances.
All users may report content or users as abusive by clicking report as abusive (sometimes found under the more menu).
Abusive Content
When content has been repeatedly reported as abusive, the author is notified and provided the opportunity to appeal the report. In some circumstances, the author may be given the option to simply edit the content. If the author chooses not to appeal within 7 days, the content is automatically removed.
Abusive User
When a user is reported as abusive by at least two other members, the member is notified and given an opportunity to appeal. The Community team will approve or deny the appeal. Denials, while rare, result in the deletion of the member's account from the Community. If the member chooses not to appeal within 90 days, their account is deleted from the Community.
Inappropriately Placed Content
If a users posts content in an overtly incorrect location, the Community team may move the content to a more suitable location. In that case, the user will be notified regarding the move.
If a user posts the same content in two places, the Community team may remove one of the duplicate posts. In that case, the user will be notified regarding the removal. As a general rule, double posting should be avoided because it can cause confusion.
Copyrighted Content
Any copyrighted content may be reported to community@m-files.com. The Community team, in accordance with our Code of Conduct, will remove any content that infringes on copyrights. Please refer to the Code of Conduct for more information.
