We want our Community members to connect. For that reason, by default we do not moderate any content or member on the Community. Instead, we simply ask all members to abide by our Code of Conduct.
In the unfortunate circumstance that you do encounter unacceptable or abusive language on the Community, we ask you to report it by clicking report as abusive. You can report both content and users as abusive.
Abusive Content
When content has been repeatedly reported as abusive, the M-Files Community Manager is notified.
- If the content is incendiary but offers value, the moderator may edit the content.
- If the content offers little value, the moderator may remove the content.
In each case, the author of the content will be kept informed and will have the opportunity to edit or remove the content on their own.
Abusive User
When a user is reported as abusive by any other member, both the Community Manager and the member are notified. The Community Manager will be in touch with the member, and the member will have 5 days to appeal the report (or longer if they request). The Community Manager will approve or deny the appeal. Denials are rare and result in the deletion of the member's account from the Community.
Non-Abusive Content
If a users posts content in an overtly incorrect location, the Community Manager may be in touch with the user to request that the post be moved to a more appropriate area.
If a user posts the same content in two places, the Community Manager may be in touch with the user to request that one of the posts be removed. As a general rule, double posting should be avoided because it can cause confusion.
Copyrighted Content
Any copyrighted content may be reported to the Community Manager at community@m-files.com. The Community Manager, in accordance with our Code of Conduct, may remove any content that infringes on copyrights. Please refer to the Code of Conduct for more information.
